Dream visit: Magick

Loki just visited my dreams and spoke to me, for the first time in a year and a half.
He gave me a brief introduction to magick.

It’s dusk, and I am sitting on a very tall, grassy hill, looking at a city in a valley below me. Loki is sitting behind me; I’m leaning against His chest and He has His arms around my waist.

“I want you to release you magick,” He says.
“But I don’t know how to do that,” I tell him.
“Listen to the music,” He says.
I suddenly hear beautiful, quiet, classical music.
“Follow the music with your emotions,” Loki says.

I close my eyes and focus on the music. It starts to build in intensity and I can feel my emotions responding. The music swells, building in intensity, and I can feel power beginning to rise from my root and up through my body. I can feel myself open up to the music and the power.
I lift my hands and turn my palms and my face up towards the heavens. I can feel my power gathering in my hands and in my head and my heart is swelling and opening up to the music.

“Now let it go,” Loki says.

The music reaches a crescendo, and I push, and release the power into the universe.
I can sense that Loki is pleased.

“Music, art and magick are connected,” He tells me.

Then I wake up.

I have tried to experiment with a few different types of magick, and one of the types which appeals to me is symbol and sigil magick, and painting or drawing them.
I paint the symbols of what I intend with the spell, and chant my intention while I paint.

What Loki told me in the dream, is that creativity and emotions are important; creativity and emotions are what connects music, art and magick.

I have a dry spell when it comes to painting and drawing, though. I ran out of ideas of what to paint. Maybe I should try listening to music and draw abstract paintings…
